The best time to visit Nepal is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. At this time the weather is pleasant and the sky is clear, which makes it ideal for trekking and sightseeing. Winters (December to February) can be cold, especially in the mountains, but this is a good time for low-altitude treks. The monsoon season (June to August) brings heavy rains, which can make trekking difficult.
The local currency of Nepal is Nepali Rupee. (NPR). There are ATMs in major cities, but it's a good idea to take some cash with you, especially if you're traveling to remote areas of Nepal. Because credit cards are accepted in hotels and large restaurants, but small shops and eateries can only take cash.
